THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was a unique event at the recently concluded World Travel Mart in London, when Union Minister for Tourism, Renuka Chowdhary released the Kerala Medical Tourism Brochure.
The brochure was brought out by Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and Great India Tour Company.
Renuka Chowdhary handed over a copy of the brochure to Tourism Secretary A.K. Mishra. E.M. Najeeb, Executive Director of KIMS hospital, Ajit Gunewardane, Joint Managing Director of John Keells Holdings and A.G.K. Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Great India Tour Company were also present.
Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Thiruvananthapuram is one of the pioneers in promoting treatment related tourism in India.
This is for the first time that Kerala is promoting medical tourism in the World Travel Mart.
The World Travel Mart was held from November 6 to November 9 in London. The Travel Mart was visited by nearly 49,000 people.
Apart from Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences, a number of tourist resorts and hotels in Kerala including Thapovan heritage resort and Ayurmana Ayurvedic spa were represented at the Travel Mart.”
