A thought-provoking post. I think it is high time, each and everyone of us join hands to eradicate this social evil. Let us start it by doing it ourselves, in our family and amongst our relatives.

Thoughts against dowry are there everywhere, right from student textbooks to newspaper articles and we do agree with all what is said too. But, how many of us really ACT, is a question?

Hi Unni,
I knew you are a hardcore malayali. And only because a malayali is adept at adapting, we take it all. But the effects are saddening, as always, since Vasco da gama set his foot on god’s own country. Didn’t we relinquish our traditions, habits and habitats since, for the sake of change?
Kozhukattas and puttu-kadala are indeed my all-time favourites. And coming to know of their untimely death in Kochi, your write-up has left me with a tinge of pain in my heart to stomach.
My sincere thanks for getting Uthara, our cutie to recite a malayalam poem. Cogratulations!!!
Malayalam movies making an exit from Kochi?! That’s ridiculous I believe. And it certainly doesn’t portend well for you either?

I do agree we need to go watch small movies and write reviews etc and I did talk about it in my post. So are you for organisations like AMMA? Am I in the wrong to think such organisations are holding good cinema on hold? Why am I unable to connect with the kind of movies being made now? So is there a solution? What about Thilakan? You do seem very pro the superstars and don’t get me wrong, I do like them a lot myself. However, I feel they need to do more to help Malayalam cinema even if it means cutting back on their clout. Thanks for enlightening me, have to admit its great to hear from somebody who has all the inside info on our cinema.
